Student Meal....

Looking for some quick and easy dishes?

If you're heading off to college and suddenly reasilng you can't cook... at all. Don't worry here is areally quick,tasty and low cost dish you can make.

I'll be posting up some more student dishes over the next few weeks...

Macaroni and Cheese or Pasta Bake

This is a creamy fillling and quick dish to make, great if your playing sport and need some carbs!! The sauce is so easy to make or just pick up a jar of any sauce in the shop, heat it up and add it to your cooked pasta. Either way its so delicious and easy.

1 onion chopped

250g pasta any type

Half a jar of cheese sauce or any pasta sauce if making a bake

50g grated cheese

3 rashers cut up and cooked

Add any of these to make a pasta bake

5 mushrooms

Half a red pepper

Handful of Frozen Peas

2 slices of ham chopped up

6 cherry tomatoes halved

Make your own white sauce

40g plain flour

40g butter

400ml milk

150g grated cheese

Method

1. Peel the onion and chop into slices.

2. If using veg from the list above do the same chop into bite size pieces.

3. Grill or fry chopped rashers until crispy, add the veg and heat for a few minutes.

4. Grate your cheese.

5. Boil a pot of water.

6. Add pasta to the boiling water, once its really bubbling turn down and let it gently simmer for around 12 minutes.

7. Make your sauce add milk butter and flour bring to boil and whisk, turn down and add cheese.

8. Strain the pasta and return to pot.

9. Add your sauce, rashers, onions and any veg.

10. Add to an oven proof dish and sprinkle cheese on top.

11. Place under the grill for a few minutes keep an eye as it browns quickly or else pop in the oven at 180c for 10 minutes.
